Ανδρέας Μενύχτας

Ο Δρ. Ανδρέας Μενύχτας είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγητής στο Τμήμα Ψηφιακών Συστημάτων, της Σχολής Τεχνολογιών Πληροφορικής και Επικοινωνιών, του Πανεπιστημίου Πειραιώς.

Αποφοίτησε από τη Σχολή Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου το 2004 και συνέχισε στην ίδια σχολή τις μεταπτυχιακές και διδακτορικές του σπουδές. Το 2009 ανακηρύχθηκε Διδάκτορας Μηχανικός με εξειδίκευση σε θέματα υπηρεσιοστρεφών υποδομών. Η διδακτορική του διατριβή εστίασε στο σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση συστημάτων, αρχιτεκτονικών και μεθοδολογιών για τη διασφάλιση της ποιότητας υπηρεσιών σε περιβάλλοντα κατανεμημένων συστημάτων και υπολογιστικών νεφών.

Έχει διδάξει προπτυχιακά και μεταπτυχιακά μαθήματα σχετικά με κατανεμημένο υπολογισμό, προγραμματισμό, και ανάπτυξη πληροφοριακών συστημάτων στο Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Αττικής, στο Ελληνικό Ανοιχτό Πανεπιστήμιο και στο Πανεπιστήμιο Πειραιώς.

Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα επικεντρώνονται στον ευρύτερο χώρο των σύγχρονων υποδομών πληροφοριακών συστημάτων, ανάπτυξης λογισμικού και Internet of Things. Ο Δρ. Μενύχτας έχει συμμετάσχει ως επιστημονικός υπεύθυνος, ερευνητής και μηχανικός σε πολλά ευρωπαϊκά και εθνικά ερευνητικά έργα. Στο πλαίσιο του ερευνητικού του έργου, έχει ασχοληθεί με θέματα Edge Computing, Internet of Things, έξυπνων πόλεων, ηλεκτρονικής υγείας, μοντελοποίησης και βελτιστοποίησης λογισμικού, τεχνιτής νοημοσύνης και μηχανικής μάθησης.

Τα αποτελέσματα του ερευνητικού του έργου έχουν παρουσιαστεί σε περισσότερες από 100 δημοσιεύσεις σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά, διεθνή επιστημονικά συνέδρια και κεφάλαια βιβλίων, ενώ έχει λάβει περισσότερες από 1900 ετεροαναφορές.

Χρήση Web Assembly – WASM
Η Web Assembly – WASM αποτελεί μια νέα τεχνολογία και πρόταση του W3C που δίνει τη δυνατότητα για εκτέλεση binary κώδικα στους σύγχρονους φυλλομετρητές και για την αλληλεπίδρασή του με το περιβάλλον του συστήματος που τον φιλοξενεί. Αυτή η προσέγγιση πρακτικά μπορεί να μετατρέψει τους φυλλομετρητές σε πανίσχυρα εργαλεία για την ανάπτυξη κατανεμημένων και αποκεντρωμένων εφαρμογών.

Ανάπτυξη πρότυπων εφαρμογών για αξιολόγηση επιδόσεων σε περιβάλλοντα IoT / Edge / Clouds
Η συνεχής δημιουργία νέων υπηρεσιών IoT, Edge, Serverless Computing και Clouds γενικότερα, έχουν δημιουργήσει την ανάγκη για την αξιολόγηση των επιδόσεων αυτών των συστημάτων μέσα από την εκτέλεση πρότυπων εφαρμογών που θα αναπτυχθούν αποκλειστικά για αυτό το σκοπό.

Ανάπτυξη εφαρμογών με χρήση τεχνολογιών επαυξημένης πραγματικότητας
Τα σύγχρονα έξυπνα κινητά και οι προηγμένες τεχνολογίες υπολογιστικής όρασης και μηχανικής μάθησης δημιουργούν ένα ιδανικό περιβάλλον για την ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων εφαρμογών σε πολλούς διαφορετικούς τομείς που θα περιλαμβάνουν δυνατότητες επαυξημένης πραγματικότητας.

Ενσωμάτωση chatbots και μεγάλων γλωσσικών μοντέλων τεχνητής νοημοσύνης σε σύγχρονες εφαρμογές
Τα chatbot και τα συστήματα τεχνητής νοημοσύνης, όπως τα μεγάλα γλωσσικά μοντέλα, έχουν δημιουργήσει πολλές νέες δυνατότητες που μπορούν να ενσωματωθούν σε καινοτόμες εφαρμογες και σύγχρονα πληροφοριακά συστήματα.

Χρήση μοντέλων βαθιάς μάθησης για την προηγμένη επικοινωνία ανθρώπου και μηχανής
Τα μοντέλα βαθιάς μάθησης που αναλύουν εικόνες και βίντεο, όπως το MediaPipe – https://mediapipe-studio.webapps.google.com/home, έχουν πια εξαιρετικές δυνατότητες προηγμένων αναλύσεων σε πραγματικό χρόνο, ενώ παράλληλα μπορούν να εκτελεστούν σε συσκευές edge. Ζητούμενο είναι η αξιοποίησή τους για την ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων διαδικτυακών και κινητών εφαρμογών για την προηγμένη επικοινωνία ανθρώπου και μηχανής και την αντιμετώπιση προβλημάτων του πραγματικού κόσμου.
